Jhansi:  A 40-year-old woman was allegedly raped by the driver and the conductor of a private bus in Kotwali area in Jhansi, police said today.

“The victim was waiting near a bus stand in Jhansi on Monday night when she was dragged inside the bus by its driver Brijendra and conductor Jitendra, who later allegedly raped her in the vehicle,” Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said.

“The woman raised an alarm following which the locals gathered and caught the accused and handed them over to the police,” Mr Kumar said.

The two accused have been arrested and the woman is currently in hospital, confirmed the senior police official.
