A teacher in Mangalore is seen thrashing an injured boy in mobile phone footage
Mangalore: A young boy with a fractured arm is hit repeatedly by a teacher in a video that has gone viral on social media.
The 5-minute video is hard to watch. It shows the boy, his right arm in a cast, standing petrified as his teacher, Somasundara Shastri, attacks him. In between the beatings, the man, who is a Veda teacher, is seen holding the thin eight-year-old by both ears and giving him a thorough shake.
The teacher also asks the boy whether he is a ‘Brahmin’ or a ‘Kshatriya.’
A complaint was lodged yesterday over the incident, which reportedly took place earlier this year in May.
